CIVIL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• Provide civil/structural design and technical support including calculations, weld design, drawing review, field investigations, and solutions for the construction and repair of industrial buildings, facilities and services
• Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy
• Write specifications and contract documents
• Inspect industrial buildings/facilities and oversee construction activities
• Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships
• Responsible for compliance with building codes, fire codes, regulations, standards and guidelines
• Coordinate and work with project team members

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering from recognized university
• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario
• Broad scope knowledge of civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards, and construction methods
• Material design experience, which may include experience in the use of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or wood
• Minimum 5 years experience working on light to heavy industrial project is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team oriented and creative thinker

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain an effective safety program to meet applicable regulations
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Project Engineer to resolve technical problems encountered during the construction phase
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate the work with contractors to ensure conformance to construction schedules
• Ensure conformance to project work rules and regulations
• Monitor and audit the performance of contractor personnel in assuring that work is completed according to specifications, plans, construction schedules, applicable safety regulations, and quality requirements
• Coordinate with Contract administrators, Field Engineers, Home Office Engineer and Constructor Manager with regard to quality problems
• Participate in weekly review meetings to review and discuss work progress and area plans in order to resolve problems of schedule delays indicated by trend data
• Maintain effective relations with clients
  

Qualifications

• College or University Graduate in an industry-related area
• At least 10 years experience in the construction industry
• Fully knowledgeable and experienced in the means, processes and methods needed to be successful on an industrial construction site
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Flexible and well organized

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical discipline leadership on medium to large scale industrial projects
• Able to complete projects on time and within budget
• Oversee the quality of engineering documentation, equipment and installation related to detailed design and engineering of industrial electrical power systems and controls
• Interact with clients and contractors.  Develop sustainable client relationships
• Provide field support to on-site personnel and the construction management team
• Prepare electrical design and engineering for industrial plants and processes. This includes power and control schemes, single line diagrams, cable schedules, equipment and cable tray layouts, cable and conduit routings, grounding and lighting layouts
• Produce and update various electrical drawings on medium & low voltage power distribution, motor control systems, PLC systems, cable selections and schedules, tray layouts,  lighting layouts
• Provide support during construction and commissioning
  

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering from recognized university
• 10-20 years experience in light to heavy industry
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario
• A proven track record and innovative approach to engineering solutions providing leadership for mentoring and coaching a team of engineers, designers and drafters
• Knowledge of all electrical and controls design areas including power distribution, system studies, electrical services, control systems, variable frequency drives, PLC, DCS, HMI, telecommunications, and network systems would be an asset
• Strong leadership, time management, organizational and communication skills are essential

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and install upgrades and additions to process equipment and piping systems
• Review, select and approve mechanical specifications for processing equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, components, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and storage tanks
• Responsible for the timely completion of projects; use engineering knowledge in the planning and executing of assignments
• Serve as a project manager or as a designated client contact.  May also perform site visits to monitor construction progress and to perform other duties
• Work in conjunction with all members within the project/discipline team; collaborate with everyone within the discipline or the project team; supervise Intermediate Engineers, Junior Engineers, Engineers-In-Training and Technologists working on a common project
• Ensure all code requirements are met
• Support the development of engineering standards and practices
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate mechanical engineers and designers
• Interact with clients and contractors.  Develop and maintain positive client relationship
  

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized university
• 10-20 years mechanical engineering experience preferably in large industrial facilities or refineries
• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. 
• A proven track record and innovative approach to engineering solutions providing leadership for mentoring and coaching a team of engineers, designers and drafters
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership, time management, organizational and communication skills are essential
• Demonstrable ability to plan, organize and implement activities successfully
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment

JUNIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• The Junior Electrical Engineer position will work under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer and will assist in electrical designs for various systems.  His work will primarily be in instrumentation and controls. 

  
  

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will possess an Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university. 

• Programming of PLC, hands-on experience with commissioning of systems and competency in AutoCAD would be an asset. Candidate must possess a strong willingness to learn and contribute in a team environment.  Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment are essential.  Candidate must have technical competence and strong attention to detail. 

JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• The Junior Mechanical Engineer position will assist in preparing mechanical drawings and related documents while coordinating work efforts with other discipline and clients.  The successful candidate will work on assigned projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer while collaborating with other team members consisting of engineers, designers, drafters and field services. 

  
  

Qualifications

• The successful candidate must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree from a recognized university. 

• Working knowledge of AUTOCAD, Piping CAD Systems and Microsoft Office Tools will be an asset.  Candidate must possess a strong willingness to learn and contribute in a team environment.  Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment are essential.  Candidate must have technical competence and strong attention to detail.
